Jewelry Care Instructions

Each piece from House of ZÉA is crafted with high-quality gold-plated brass designed to bring you everyday elegance at an accessible price point. To keep your jewelry looking luminous and beautiful, we recommend the following care guidelines.

With gentle care and mindful wear, your ZÉA pieces will maintain their shine longer and stay a treasured part of your collection.

Everyday Care

Gold-plated jewelry is delicate and requires mindful handling. To preserve the plating:

  • Avoid direct contact with perfume, lotions, oils, and makeup.

  • Put jewelry on after applying skincare, makeup, and fragrance.

  • Remove before:
    • showering
    • exercising
    • swimming
    • sleeping
    • applying sunscreen or body oils

Water, Sweat & Chemical Exposure

Gold plating can fade faster when exposed to moisture or chemicals.

For best longevity:

  • Do not wear your jewelry in pools, oceans, saunas, or baths.

  • Avoid heavy sweating while wearing your pieces.

  • Keep away from cleaning products, alcohol-based sprays, sanitizers, and harsh chemicals.

Storage

Proper storage will significantly extend the life of your plating.

  • Store jewelry in a dry, cool place, away from humidity.

  • Use the ZÉA pouch or box included with your order.

  • Keep each piece separate to avoid scratching or tangling.

  • Avoid storing jewelry in bathrooms or near moisture.

Cleaning Your Jewelry

To keep your gold-plated brass pieces radiant:

  • Gently wipe with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth after each wear.

  • Avoid abrasive cloths, chemicals, liquid jewelry cleaners, or polishing machines.

  • If deeper cleaning is needed, use a lightly damp cloth and completely dry afterward.

Natural Stones

If your pieces include natural stones:

  • Avoid drops, impact, or hard surfaces.

  • Keep stones away from perfumes and extreme temperatures.

  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth only.

Each stone has natural variations that make it uniquely beautiful.

Tarnishing & Wear

Gold plating naturally wears over time — especially with frequent contact with water, sweat, perfumes, or friction.

This is a normal characteristic of gold-plated brass jewelry.

To extend the life of your pieces:

  • Follow all care instructions closely.

  • Rotate your jewelry to avoid wearing the same pieces every day.
